Fresh dates

Delicious plain

– also great for cakes, salads etc

Bread rolls with dates

25 g fresh yeast

1 dl water

60 g melted butter

50 g sugar

1.5 dl plain yoghurt

100 g pitted dates

1 tsp salt

400 g flour

1 egg for brushing

1 tbsp sugar for sprinkling

 

 

Dissolve yeast in 1 tbsp cold water.

Combine the rest of the water with the butter and heat until melted.

Pour mixture into a bowl, add sugar and yoghurt and allow to cool until lukewarm.

Then combine with the yeast mixture.

Finely chop dates and combine with salt and 1 egg.

Mix and knead the flour into a smooth dough that no longer sticks to your fingers.

Shape the dough into a ball, cover and let rise for 40 min.

Punch dough and form on a flowered surface into approx. 12 rolls.

Let rise again for approx. 20 min., then brush with egg and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake at 200-210º C for approx. 15 min.
